happy camper

I made this card for today's sketch challenge over on SCS. I am working on adding to my boy card stash. I love this stamp set, but I hardly ever use it, so it was fun to get it out I also got out some SU patterned paper that I had yet to open. I like the brown and yellow combo. This card makes me excited for camping, even though I am more of a tent kind of gal:) Too bad most of our weekends this summer are spent working on building a house and an addition.

getting sketchy

These are the two cards that I made for this week's sketch challenge over at SCS. I can't get enough of this amy butler paper. I love how it looks like wallpaper. This was a fun sketch that really let you show a lot of the paper. I used very vanilla and bashful blue. Pretty easy! I found some bashful blue ribbon in my stash and dusted off my hodgepodge hardware.I don't like this one as much. I had grabbed these scraps a few weeks ago and colored this image to match. I came across them and decided it was time to put the card together. This sketch actually worked pretty well. The papers are whisper white, bashful blue, real red, and apricot appeal.

I do love this little ladybug and sunflower image though! Our sunflowers that we planted in various places around our little home are starting to sprout! Yeah! Next year we are thinking of planting a field of them to help out with the bees that we want to get.

Ryan and I are certainly enjoying our weekend! It's probably our last one before Baby (who still needs a name) is born!

birthday moose

I needed to make some boy birthday cards for my brother-in-law and my uncle. They share the same birthday (which is on Monday.) I borrowed this image from my friend Stephanie and I finally got around to using it. I followed the sketch challenge over at SCS. I stamped fishing riley on kraft cardstock and colored him with my SU markers. All the paper for these cards came from my scrap pile. I don't even know what the names of any of them are. It's a little embarassing...but I've had some of these for years. It's nice to finally use them up and make a little dent in my pile.

I did get some new SU goodies today and I'm looking forward to creating with them soon.

Today two of my friends took me to get a pedicure and lunch. My toenails are now a pretty, pearly blue in honor of this baby boy!! Only 7 days until my due date....but I just have a feeling he will be arriving a little late...not sure why. I hope I'm wrong:)

anniversary sketch

Hello and happy Monday. I actually had some time this weekend to put my feet up and stamp a little bit. I made another anniversary card with Jen's sketch for you to try. I pulled out some scraps to come up with my color combo. I really liked all the circles. I think I went a little overboard with the pearls, but they seemed so wedding-y and pretty that I just went with it. I think I will try a little simpler version of this sketch another time because it was pretty fun to play with. I used the Love You Much stamp set (thanks again Steph) and the matching heart punch. the paper is almost amethyst, apricot appeal, and certainly celery. Thanks for stopping by! springy stripes

Hello all. It's been awhile since I've done one of Jen's sketch for you to try sketches! This one was really fun. I thought these spring colors would be fun for a mother's day card! The patterned paper is die cuts with a view (it has glitter on the white stripes). And the rest of the cardstock is Stampin' Up! Thanks for stopping by today! It was kinda a rough day at school so I'm happy to be home:) I have some chicken cooking up and I think bbq sandwiches will be just the thing. And of course a side of sweet potato fries!

brainwave challenge. This week it was a sketch challenge. I used SU's always images that I received from the wish-rak group. I got a little punchy with all my different punches! And I found this ribbon in the bottom of my ribbon jar and thought it matched perfectly. Gotta love stripes! I hope you have a happy day!

double challenge!

Whew! This was a hard one! I guess that's why it's a challenge. I used ashley's brainwave challenge which was a color combo: old olive, taken with teal, river rock, and bravo burgundy. That was the tough part! Trying to make those colors come together. I used my watercolor wonder crayons and blender pen for that cute dino. It came from prehistoric pals over at Treehouse Stamps. The sentiments are too funny! I wish I actually owned the stamp set, but I just got this image from Ashley a while back.

The sketch is for taylor's cupcake challenge! I used my creative memories circle cutter...I forgot I had that. The background was looking a little dull so I got out my canvas background stamp. I love those! A quick way to add something to your card. My rectangle ended up a little large...I guess that dino was a little big for this layout. Oh well. I think the flowers help to balance it out. Well, I think that is all. I have to get some baking done for my sister's bridal shower tomorrow. I can't wait to see her and my other friends/family!

Isn't this a fun springy card? I have had this pack of green textured patterned paper forever and I finally used some of it. Yeah! This card is for ashley's brainwave challenge. After I finished my card I realized that I put the scallops facing the wrong way on that rectangle panel. Oops. I love this stamp set, there are three flower images and a solid background. This particular flower had not seen ink yet, but I think it matched the paper nicely!

another weekend sketch challenge

One of the girls I grew up with is graduating from high school! Well, she was four when we moved in next door and I was in third grade. I used to baby-sit her and her brother and sister. She is the youngest and the last to graduate. I can't believe it. I hope she likes this card. I didn't use normal graduation colors or school colors...but she is such a girly-girl this just seemed to fit:) I used Beate's weekend sketch challenge for the layout. Thanks for stopping by!

I'm back with beate's weekend sketch challenge. I had so many scraps laying around while I was doing this, so I decided to make two! Which one do you like better? For the background papers I just flipped the designer paper over...so one card features one side and the other side of the paper is on the other card. Pretty fun. Speaking of pretty...aren't those flowers from the pretties kit great? I colored them with my apricot appeal marker and then tied a ribbon around them. Well, happy Friday to you all!

It's Friday! Time for another of beate's sketch challenges! I received these Yukon images from Susan in Wish-Rak and I decided this would be a good time to use them. I love this moose! I have been looking for this retired set for a looong time and Ryan surprised me with it for my birthday! So cool! I finally inked up my flannal background stamp and had a lot of fun with these colors. Enjoy!

It's time for another of beate's weekend sketch challenges! These are really fun to do. I'm not really sure that I like how this card turned out. I love the pear image, but I need to work on my watercoloring skills! I added glitter to outline the pear because I wanted to participate in Sharon's challenge. This challenge to use glitter came at the perfect time because I was just enjoying the glitter on the cards that Mindy posted here and was vowing to use glitter more often! Well, maybe I will try this layout again and have better results! Thanks for looking :)

weekend sketch challenge

This is my card for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge, which you can view here. My circle is a little large :) The only bigger circle thing I had was from the SU On Board chipboard. So, I covered it with wild wasibi dsp (I finally am using my stash!) and sanded the edges. The owl image is from the $1 bin at Michaels and I've been waiting to use it, and this just seemed like the perfect time! Happy Friday to you!
