elephant baby

Does this paper look familiar? I still had it on my desk and I decided it would make a sweet baby card for a friend. She is having a girl in April. I was trying to think what color would accent this fun paper and I saw my little elephant stamp and I thought gray would be a fun match.
Ryan is snowshoeing with a friend (I'm bummed I can't join them...but the doctor nixed that idea...) so I'm off to watch girly movies with a friend as soon as my oatmeal raisin cookies come out of the oven. Yum! I'm bringing a little yarn project to work on, so stay tuned for that:) I hope you all enjoy your weekend.

featured blogger ~dancing with stamps

This week's featured blogger in the wish-rak forum is KellyJean who has a really cute blog called dancing with stamps. I chose to case this card. The wish-rak item I used is the cute cat image. I colored it with my watercolor pencils. My image ended up being a little large, but I tried to follow the same layout as KellyJean's card.

Well, keeping it short and sweet tonight. Ryan just scooped up some yummy rocky road ice cream, so it's time to get off the computer:)

CPS sketch

Hello everyone. Are you enjoying your Sunday afternoon? I sure am. In between a walk with Ryan and the dogs and reading some new gardening books I decided to try the cps sketch challenge. I used some papers that I got from Stephanie a loooong time ago. I thought they were a fun match to this fun image from heidi grace. I just love my very vanilla cardstock. I couldn't decide if I should color those cute trees or not and in the end I just left them alone. Pretty and simple. Enjoy.

6 months!

This picture just cracks me up! Ryan got such a funny angle:) I thought it would be fun to make a little list of numbers from this week.

2~the number of times I have had to get up in the middle of the night to EAT something!
4~the number of backrubs Ryan has so kindly given
10~the number of people who have come up and touched/rubbed my belly
8~the number of those people who are second grade girls from school:)
17~(I'm rounding up*wink*) the number of people who have asked if we have a name picked out yet (the answer is still no)
5~the number of people who have asked when I'm due
3~ the number of those people who I actually know
1~ the number of walks I've taken (wish this number was a little higher....)
6~ the number of pounds I've gained since my last appointment
3~ the number of friends who have given me maternity clothes to borrow (thanks!)
32~the average number of times I roll over during the night because my hips hurt
5~ the number of other people that have felt the baby move
too many to count~ the number of times I've felt a wiggle/kick/punch etc. So very cool!
That was kinda fun. I wish I would have thought to do this more often during my pregnancy, since I'm such a list kind of gal. Thanks for stopping by.

bettina buttercream birthday

I made these two birthday cards with some images from stamping bella that I received from wish-rak. This is bettina buttercream and just writing that makes me want something with yummy frosting! I colored them with my su markers and used some dcwv patterened paper. I used some circle punches and the scallop punch for the sentiments in the corner. I'm happy to be adding to my birthday stash...now I just need some boy birthday cards! Toodles!

two knits

Well, here they are. The first two knitting projects I have ever completed. The first one is totally NOT square, lol. Can you tell I'm a beginner? I like the green and yellow yarn and it works just the same to clean counters! The second one was a little harder....I'm still learning to follow a pattern. Can you see the butterfly in the middle? I am pretty proud:) My friend and I thought we would just get together and whip these up....three weeks later I finally finished mine. I haven't used this one yet because I'm still admiring it. Hee hee.

These were fun though and I love that I didn't have to buy any dishclothes. I think I might make a few more. Thanks for stopping by. I'm off to do some dishes and fold the laundry.

featured blogger ~ djuseless

This week's featured blogger in the wish-rak forum is Diane and you will want to make sure you check out her new blog. She has a lot of fun and cute cards on there. I chose this card to case. I changed the color combo and the image. I recived that annie lapoint image and the baja breeze cardstock through wish-rak. This card came together pretty quickly. I got the striped paper first and then colored my image. Who wouldn't love an orange bathtub full of flowers?? I guess it may be a little odd, but I was trying to match the paper. I hope you all enjoy your Sunday! Hugs!

His Holy Name ~ catching up

Hello. Here are my long over due pages for Patter's challenge called "His Holy Name." I really enjoyed searching Scripture for some verses that really spoke to me about these names of God. It just took me awhile to get the pages done:)
This first one is my verse for the word {sovereign}. I used lots of glitter and sparkle! I found some fun green paper with gold glittered leaves and some fun alphabet stickers.
This second page is for the word Protector. I am having fun using my alphabet stickers on these. I used some Basic Grey paper and a fun ghost arrow to point to the word.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all enjoy your Valentine's Day.

lavender thanks

I was in the mood for lots of color when I made this card. I started by coloring that fun lavender image and then got some cardstock to match. I embossed the sentiment in white and added a strip of glitter. It seemed to need just a little more, so I added the punched butterflies. I'm happy we finally got some more snow around here. I'm all warm and cozy inside and getting ready to enjoy dinner and add a few more logs to the fire. Have a fun night.

fun finds

Ryan and I had a wonderful morning strolling through the antique stores in Florence. We weren't really searching for anything in particular, but love to just browse around. We did come home with a few good finds. We stopped for a yummy sandwich and salad at the Aspen Leaf Bakery to finish up our trip. Here are some pictures of our goods:

I found some old clothespins that I thought I would use to wrap some of my ribbons and get them a little more organized. They will take up less space this way. And we got a fun scoop for our big tin of bread flour.

I think this was my favorite find! Isn't he cute? It was handmade by a local artist. He will find a good home in our kitchen.

And lastly, check out this old nut chopper! I accidently busted our last one when I knocked if off the counter, so we are going to give this one a whirl. I love the little bits of red that we are adding to our kitchen. Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your weekend.
