Hello everyone. Here is my card for ashley's brainwave challenge. This was a fun color combo to work with. I dusted off my white embossing powder and one of my SU wheels. It's been a while since I used either of those. I also got to use some of that pretty ribbon that ashley sent me. It came together pretty quickly. Have a happy day.

bring it on

A while back my best friend Mindy posted about this scarf and I made the comment that if I posted a yarn project of my own, then she would have to post some scrapbooking! She replied with "bring it on." So, here is my yarn creation. Nothing as cool as her scarf, but a dishcloth and pot holder will have to do. You may wonder why I only have one pot holder. I actually made two of these for my aunt's birthday last year. A few days ago she informed me that one of them went up in flames. So, I made her another one. I have never made a dishcloth before (but I received a really cute lime green one as a gift) and I wanted to try. I would still like to figure out how to make a border/edge around it. I also have some yarn stashed away for a scarf. Hopefully I can get it started soon. So, Minnz....I'm waiting for some scrapbooking girly:)

Good morning! Here is my card for the color challenge over on SCS. I love this set, and it hasn't seen ink in a while so I was happy to get it out! The little square with the button and flowers was inspired by Sharon over at no time to stamp who posted a beautiful card with a mini collage on it. The wheel barrow and background were looking a little plain, so I got out my itty bitty backgrounds and gave them some polka dots. Thanks for stopping by. Have a happy day. I finally got to use some images that stephanie let me stamp when she came over last time. I watercolored the little bird with my reinkers. I also used up some dp and primas that marjorie sent me. I'm not sure where it came from, but I like the soft colors. Perfect for a get well card! I just got back from four days of camping and fishing with Ryan's parents and some family friends. We had such a good time and enjoyed some fabulous weather! Have a happy day.

brainwave challenge #15

Hello everyone! Here is my card for ashley's bwc. This week the challenge was a color combo: old olive, chocolate chip, bravo burgundy, and white. This was the perfect time to use this tree from treehouse stamps. I just used a hint of burgundy because I didn't want to take away from the tree. I had this scrap of old olive on top of my pile and it worked great! I think I am going to stamp {grateful} on the inside and use it as a thank you card. Have a happy day!

Yeah! I finished my alaska scrapbook. Ryan went fishing Friday night, so I got a ton of pages done. And I finished the last one yesterday. I am really happy with how it turned out. I won't bore you with all the pages, but I will share a few of my favorites. It was fun remembering this trip! We drove to Alaska to visit Ryan's brother and his wife. We were gone for 29 days. The ultimate roadtrip. We did so many fun things along the way and got tons of camping in. I hope you all have a happy day!

I'm just plugging away on this alaska scrapbook! I couldn't work on anything else even if I wanted to. All my supplies are taking over the table! I guess I should just finish this up before I get anything new out:) But, I do have some new stamps that are waiting patiently to be inked...

My goal is to finish this book before school starts, so I am going to keep on keeping on! It is a nice change of pace to do some scrapbooking after all those cards I've been working on.
The layouts are pretty self explanitory. I am using the Out & About Simply Scrappin' Kit from SU. I just love those scrapbooking kits...and I love having a color theme for my book. Everything just matches so nicely! Thanks for stopping by and have a happy day.

randomness

First, I wanted to show off this cute card that I got from my bf mindy. I just love the layout and I plan on casing my own very soon! I have a lot of ribbon to use up, and I love how she looped it around the two layers! Today is her birthday, so be sure to head over and wish her a happy one!Thanks for the happy mail friend!











Next, I just had to show you this cute scrap bag that my good friend Sarah gave me. Her grandmother made it. Isn't it the best? I love those bright colors and it is way more fun than hauling a trashcan around. It has sand (or something like it) in the top part and it just hangs on the table. The hearts sort of remind me of the care bears and that just makes me smile:)















































Lastly, we inherited a little puppy (he's about a year old) from some friends who had to get rid of him. We are keeping him until we can find another home. His name is Lucky and he looks like a miniture Java (our other dog) but he is quickly becoming buddies with Daisy. Isn't this the cutest picture?! He is so sweet and cuddly...I don't know if I want to pass him on! But, seriously, what would we do with three dogs?

finally!

I finally started my alaska scrapbook! It's only a year later too:) I'm bummed though because while we were in Alaska I bought an 8x8 scrapbook with a really cool cover, but after making three pages last night, I decided that it's just not enough room. So, I converted my little pages to a big 12x12 page. I'm not sure if I like how it turned out...I feel like there's a lot of space in the upper corners, but I have no idea what to put there! Any ideas? I am using the out & about simply scrappin' kit and my happy camper stamp set from SU for this whole project. I have a lot of pictures, so I'm glad that some of the thinking has already been decided for me. Have a happy day friends!

mojo madness and a wedding!

This is the card I made for my little sister's wedding. We have been celebrating all weekend! She got married on Friday and the entire day was simply wonderful. She was such a happy, beautiful bride! I am so excited for her and her new hubby. I followed julee's mojo monday sketch and used my sister's wedding colors.

I've had that pink swirl clip forever and this was the perfect time to use it! I got the photo corners through wish-rak and the sentiment was one I borrowed from Stephanie. Lots of goodies on this card for a special couple:)

ew...what is that?

The past two days have been a constant mixture of drizzle, rain, and outright downpour. I've loved this rain for several reasons. The first is that I haven't had to water our garden (thank you mother nature) and the second is that I have a very good excuse for not going on my morning run (it's been too wet:). But this morning I woke up to a beautiful sunrise and not a cloud in the sky so I made myself put on my tennis shoes (isn't it amazing how quickly we can break good habits...two days of no morning exercise and I'm ready to quit forever!). Well, while on my little jog I happened upon this weird slimy fish/lizard thing slithering across the road. It was the grossest thing I have yet to see on my morning jaunts. I finished my run and then got my camera and went back. I really wanted a picture so I could ask Ryan what the heck it was. But, it was nowhere to be seen. Now I will probably never know what it was, but I am ok with not seeing one again! So, I decided to share a more beautiful picture...my view on my way home from my run every morning (unless I have a good excuse to stay inside:) Every time I look at those mountians I am reminded of Psalm 121: "I lift up my eyes to the hills -- where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." Such comforting words! What a blessing to live in this beautiful place!

Ok, enough rambling. I wanted to share another 6x6 scrapbook page for my family album. This is a picture of my hubby (far right) and his two younger brothers. I grew up with one sister, so marrying into a family of all boys has been an adventure! These guys are so wonderful and I love any chance to spend time with them. I kept this page pretty simple because I didn't want to take away from the picture. I embossed the title and they are all shiny irl. Well, I better get going. I'm off to pick up my littlest cousin to bring her to the school for basketball camp. I am going to work in my classroom and then take her out to lunch. We've been trying to go to this cute little tea shop in town all summer and it is always closed when we get there (the joys of a small town...business hours by owner's convienence:) I do really love it though!) So, hopefully today is our lucky day! Have a happy one!

Today's color challenge on SCS was to use groovy guava, barely banana, and chocolate chip. I never would have thought to put these colors together, but I really like it. I love this stamp set with the little tea setting. Doesn't it look inviting? I kept this card pretty simple and I like how it all came together. Here is my card for ashley's brainwave challenge. It was a color combo challenge and I used all Stampin' Up on this card. This is one of my favorite stamp sets! I made this card for my cousin who is going to do my hair for my sister's wedding this weekend. Yeah! I couldn't decide on a sentiment for the outside (it says thank you on the inside). 4th of July Challenge

Over in the wish-rak forum on SCS there was a challenge for the 4th of July. Each hour a different challenge was posted. The cards are going to be donated to the troops. I got to play in three of them and it was very fun! The first card is for the challenge to make a thanksgiving card. I love this stamp set and I used my watercolor wonder crayons and blender pen to color the image. I also used up some ribbon that I have had for a very long time.

The next challenge was to make a birthday card for mom with blue and some form of hearts or flowers. I used soft sky and not quite navy for this one.

The last challenge I participated in was to make a get well card. I had this scrap of paper on top of my scrap pile so I started there. I don't think I have ever used this image before so I was glad to ink it up! It was pretty fun doing these challenges, but it was hard to get the cards done in one hour. I hope you all are enjoying your weekend! I have been super busy. My best friend and her husband are here visiting and we are having a blast! I don't think I have laughed so much in a long time. Here is another card I made using up some scraps. I seem to have a lot of paper with stripes! There were a lot of colors in this paper and I tried to match them when I colored the image. I love this little watering can of flowers! The sentiment on the scallop circle is a rub-on from SU. Very fun. I hope you all have a happy day!

I know that these nice & easy notes are a pretty old stamp set, but they are still one of my favorites! These are some of the cards that I made at my friend's house last week. I just brought this stamp set, my markers, white paper, and my scraps. Then when I got home I added a few embellishments. It was pretty easy :) I love how I used the same scrap of dp, but they each look very different. Have a happy day!
