sweet birthday wishes

Here is my card for taylor's cupcake challenge. I finally finished it. Stephanie came over last night to scrapbook, but we didn't get any scrapbooking done! Maybe next time :) She did show me how to do some great coloring with the SU markers and then we swapped images and paper while talking. I colored this image (under her direction) last night and then covered it with crystal effects. I let it dry while we moved on to other things and then I finished it this morning. Well, I'm off to do some house cleaning and bake some bread. Have a happy day!

{ingredients}
stamps: inkadinkado
paper: certainly celery, pretty in pink, pumpkin pie, white, dp
ink: stazon black, pumpkin pie, certainly celery
more: crystal effects, SU markers, ribbon, circl punches, slit punch, paper piercer

from me to you

Here is the card I made for ashley's
brainwave challenge. This week it was a sketch challenge. I used SU's always images that I received from the wish-rak group. I got a little punchy with all my different punches! And I found this ribbon in the bottom of my ribbon jar and thought it matched perfectly. Gotta love stripes! I hope you have a happy day!

{ingredients}
stamps: always, so many sayings
ink: old olive, taken with teal
paper: petals dp, so saffron, certainly celery, white, tempting turquoise, pretty in pink
more: ribbon, rhinestones, dimensionals, circle punches, scallop punch, oval punch, word window punch

more 6 x 6

Hello girlies. Here is a simple little page for my family album. The green looks a little funny in the pic...in real life it is old olive! I kept the page really really simple. All supplies are SU. I used up some of my rub-ons for the butterfly and the sentiment. I do not like how I wrote the date (the marker is too big I think), so I might rewrite it on a tab punch and attach a few of my new black brads and cover it up. What do you think?
Well, I had another fun girly day yesterday after three fun days bopping around Denver with Stephanie and getting lots of fun teaching ideas from our conferences. Yesterday was shopping, yummy lunch, talking, and a little stamping with Clara and Amy! Stay tuned for some of the cards I made with my friends. I just need to add a few finishing touches. Have a happy day!

tulip fairy and a fun weekend

Hello. Sorry I was MIA this weekend. My sister's bridal shower was on Saturday and then we had a tea on Sunday. Can I tell you how much I love teas!!! They are so fun to sit and drink tea, eat yummy snacks and visit. I will include a few pictures from my fun weekend with my sister and family and friends.

But, first...here is a card. I love this little fairy. She looks like she is carrying a tulip (my favorite!). It is called eloise greenleaf from stamping bella. I colored her with my SU markers. The sentiment on the tab is a rub-on. I chose all the colors based on that striped piece of paper.

Now, for some fun pictures!

My sister's colors are pink and black, so that is what we did for the shower. We had really yummy rainbow chip cupcakes!

The tea was at our high school bible study leader's house. It was so nice to visit and catch up with her. Most of the girls from that bible study are now married. It's crazy! We had such a fun time and did not want to leave! Have a happy Monday friends! Stephanie and I leave early tomorrow for some teacher conferences in Denver and will be gone for three days. I'm looking forward to some more girl time:)

{ingredients}
stamps: eloise greenleaf
ink: black
paper: dp (dcwv), cameo coral, pumpkin pie, rose red, white
more: white gel pen, markers, round tab punch, rub-on, brads, ribbon

double challenge!

Whew! This was a hard one! I guess that's why it's a challenge. I used ashley's brainwave challenge which was a color combo: old olive, taken with teal, river rock, and bravo burgundy. That was the tough part! Trying to make those colors come together. I used my watercolor wonder crayons and blender pen for that cute dino. It came from prehistoric pals over at Treehouse Stamps. The sentiments are too funny! I wish I actually owned the stamp set, but I just got this image from Ashley a while back.

The sketch is for taylor's cupcake challenge! I used my creative memories circle cutter...I forgot I had that. The background was looking a little dull so I got out my canvas background stamp. I love those! A quick way to add something to your card. My rectangle ended up a little large...I guess that dino was a little big for this layout. Oh well. I think the flowers help to balance it out. Well, I think that is all. I have to get some baking done for my sister's bridal shower tomorrow. I can't wait to see her and my other friends/family!

funky ric rac

Today's Way To Use It Challenge on SCS was to use ric rac. I just picked up this orange ric rac last weekend at a garage sale! So I had to use it. I wasn't sure which stamp set to use, so I just grabbed one out of my stash and I got painted posies. I love this simple stamp set, but hardly ever use it. So, this was good. I just kept getting colors from that fun patterned paper and it got a little funky, but I like it. Have a happy day!
{ingredients}
stamps: painted posies
ink: only orange
paper: so saffron, bashful blue, garden green, petals dp, patterned paper (me & my big ideas)
more: circle punches, scallop punch, ric rac, ribbon, eyelets, photo corner punch, dimensionals

lots of green!

Isn't this a fun springy card? I have had this pack of green textured patterned paper forever and I finally used some of it. Yeah! This card is for ashley's brainwave challenge. After I finished my card I realized that I put the scallops facing the wrong way on that rectangle panel. Oops. I love this stamp set, there are three flower images and a solid background. This particular flower had not seen ink yet, but I think it matched the paper nicely!
Also, I wanted to let you know that the retired list is posted on the Stampin' Up! website. Be sure to check it out. Have a happy day and thanks for stopping by.
{ingredients}
stamps: all holidays, oh, so lovely
ink: garden green,
paper: garden green, river rock, dp (provo craft)
more: slit punch, circle punches, cream flower accent, linen thread

my first cupcake challenge!

Every Friday taylor posts a cupcake challenge and I finally got to try one! This sketch was super fun. I used the maltilda muffinbread (from stamping bella) image that I got from marjorie. Isn't it cute? I added some glitter to the cupcake and there is glitter on the patterned paper...so this card really shines:) That pink bow is left over ribbon from my wedding center pieces...I'm slowly using it up four years later! Well, have a happy day (and Happy Father's Day!). We are heading to church and then ryan's parents are coming down. We are going to go out to their property (they have 35 acres outside of town) and walk around and brainstorm where we want to put a road in and then have burritos for dinner! We also get to celebrate Ryan's birthday. Yeah....shoud be a fun day.

{ingredients}
stamps: matilda muffinbread (stamping bella)
paper: apricot appeal, pretty in pink, pixie pink, creamy caramel, dp (dcwv-glitter pack), white
ink: black
more: markers, dazzling diamonds, sukara glitter pen, ribbon (unknown--michaels I think), jewels (K&Company), white gel pen

our first home

I came across these pictures of our first house in Divide. It's hard to believe that we have moved twice since we lived here. But, each move got better and we LOVE where we are now! Hopefully there is no moving in our future! We did love this little house though and scrapbooking these pictures brought back lots of memories! Have a happy Saturday. We are off to chop up some more firewood and clear some trees off my in-laws' property.

6x6 family album

Here is the first page I made for my little family album. These are my beautiful cousins! Last year we moved to their town and I am loving spending more time with them. This picture is a couple years old, but it's one of my favorites! They are getting into stamping and scrapbooking and I love having them over to play! I don't know if you can see the word I stamped in the chipboard tag, but it says 'cherish'. Have a happy day!
{ingredients}
stamps: polka dots & paisleys, warm words
paper: tempting turquoise, white
ink: tempting turquoise, black
more: chipboard, brads, ribbon, marker, white gel pen

hey there!

Hello. Here is my sample for ashley's brainwave challenge. It was an inspiration challenge and this fun summer bag is full of colors that I just love! I was excited to use this dp that I got from a friend for my birthday. Isn't that orange fun? This is an old stamp from a local store. It is really fun to color. The sentiment sticker says 'hey there' in case you can't see it. I have so many stickers that I really need to use more. That's why I love these challenges because I get out some things that I forget I have! Be sure to check out ashley's site...she has new stamps being released on Thursday!
{ingredients}
stamps: flower basket (all night media)
paper: pumpkin pie, ruby red, cameo coral, white, dp (me & my big ideas)
ink: black
more: sticker sentiment, white signo gel pen, markers, dimensionals, flower brads

Look at what I won from Marjorie over at mommy scraps. She does some amazing scrapbook pages! And she has the cutest little girls. I can't wait to use some of those cute fairy images and that fun paper. Thanks Marjorie!

Goin' to the Chapel...

...and we're gonna get married! Well, today Ryan and I are celebrating our four year wedding anniversary! I can't believe four years have passed since we said our vows. It really has been amazing and God has blessed me with a wonderful husband! Tonight I am going to make coconut shrimp and tomorrow we are going on a hike. That is if the weather will cooperate....can you believe this...it's snowing! We have about one inch on the ground and all over my beginnings of a garden. At least it's not really cold, just white and wet!
This card is for one of my old college roommates that is getting married this summer. I am really bummed that I can not make it to her wedding, but it is the same day that my little sis is getting married. I am excited for both of them as they begin this adventure called marriage.
{ingredients}
stamps: blooming with love, all year cheer III
ink: basic black, real red
paper: whisper white, real red, basic black
more: pretties kit (flowers and hat pin), red marker, sakura pen, dimensionals

it's 14er season!

I am so ready to climb some more 14ers this season! These pictures are from 2002. There is a group of us that like to try and climb together every summer...at least before we all got married and live all over the place:) I just love Colorado and all the beauty there is to explore. It's such a good feeling when you make it to the top!

I don't remember where I got this dp...I think it was a gift. The other paper is brocade blue and a mustard color. I used my big deal stamp set for my title and added some little flowers. Pretty basic.

Such good memories. Thanks for stopping by.

father's day brainwave challenge

Can you believe it's June already? Here is one of the father's day cards that I made. I used the sketch from ashley's brainwave challenge. Some friends came over on Friday and we stamped/scrapbooked all day! It was so fun. Today we are going to do some more work in our garden after church and then we're off to a bbq for my uncle's birthday. Have a happy Sunday.
