It's been a rough weekend. We had to put our dog, java, down today. I took her to the vet on Friday for what I thought was a sore on her foot. It turns out that it was cancer. The tumor had burst through the skin and after further examination it seemed to have already spread to her lymph nodes too. It was not an easy decision, but we knew it was the right thing so she wouldn't be in any more pain. We have had her most of our married life (we celebrated 7 years on Sunday!). She was our hiking buddy, our camping companion, and a loving, loyal dog.
There's not much more to say, so I'll share a few of our favorite pictures:
We miss you java girl!

I remember meeting her for the first time in the Hobby Lobby parking lot and thinking she was the cutest pup I'd ever seen. So tiny. And I was glad she kept crazy Dex in line when she visited--wouldn't take any of his shenanigans :)We will miss you Java, but we won't forget you!
Java, I remember picking you out when you were just a little pup! YOu were so sweet and playful! You were a great camping and hiking dog, even though you wouldn't sleep in the pink tent :) And whenever we would go to pet you you would put our wrists in your mouth. We are sure going to miss you, little Java!
Oh Leanne, hearing this breaks my heart! I am so sorry. I know she meant so much to your family and she was such a great dog! Please know we are thinking about you.
Actually Java liked the pink tent...Daisy wouldn't sleep in it :) What a good dog!
Oh Leanne, this is such heart-breaking news. I am so sorry to hear about your sweet Java girl. I know you loved her so very much. Hugs, my friend.
