featured blogger ~ relax

Well, this card is for last week's featured blogger JBgreendawn. I wanted to get it posted before I checked out today's challenge. The card I chose to case can be found here. I loved the ribbon in the eyelets on the side...and I have plenty of eyelets to dig into. The purple fibers came from a pack of making memories funky fibers that I have had probably eight years! Still trying to use up what I have. The image is from wish-rak. It was really fun to color. Thanks for stopping by!

funky birthday

I made this card for my cousin's 18th birthday. I just kept adding to it once I had the color scheme going! I received the bella image through wish-rak and used some fun paper scraps that I had. I love the polka dot theme. I also found some number stickers that matched perfectly. Then glitter and a star button to top it all off. It was very fun to give this to her and celebrate another year:) I hope you are all enjoying your weekend, we sure are!

watercolor pencils

A fun little card and a great image to get my watercolor pencils back out. I used my blender pen to, well, blend them:) I also got out my decorative scissors (from way back when...) I used a su rub-on and some funky fibers from my stash to finish up this card. Oh, and I scored some horizontal lines for a little more dimension. I had a lot of fun watercoloring and plan to do some more soon. Have a happy Friday!

his holy name

I am taking part in a challenge over at Patter's blog called His Holy Name. Every other week for the entire year she is going to post one of the names of God for us to study. Then we are to choose a scripture that we like and make a project. I am going to make a 6x6 album. I'm looking foward to studying the names of God and creating a little book for our coffee table. The first word is holy. I have been studying it for the past week and a half and am really enjoying it. Holy means set apart, sacred, divine. We are called to be holy just as He is holy.

About my page....I had the whole thing layed out and it just seemed to be missing something so I decided to stitch around the edges. Now I have never stitched on paper before so don't look too closely. After a couple practice runs I just went for it:) I think I am going to use kraft paper for all my pages to sort of tie them together. I like the look of the kraft with one other color. Tomorrow she will be giving us the second word. There is still time to join in if you would like to take this word study journey with me.

Have a happy day! I'm looking forward to knitting with a friend and enjoying some venison chili! After I clean my house of course.

Featured Blogger

There is a new challenge in the wish-rak forum over at SCS. Each week a different blogger will be featured and to participate we are supposed to do 2 things:
1. Go check out their blog and find a card/project to CASE. You must change 2 things.
2. Use something we have received from wish-rak on our card.

This week the featured blogger is Collette and she has a wonderful blog called heaven sent to you . You can see her card that I cased here. I changed the color combo and the stamp set/sentiment. I also made my own background paper by punching out some circles. All the stamped items were received from wish-rak. This was a really fun challenge and I hope to participate next week! Have a happy day!

{ingredients}
stamps: always
ink: night of navy, taken with teal
paper: night of navy, taken with teal, real red, whisper white
more: ribbon, brads, dimensionals, circle punch, ticket corner punch

may family

I got these lovely pictures from my aunt and uncle in our Christmas card. I wanted to scrapbook them, but I kept the pages really simple because I wanted the focus to be the pictures. I used my making memories foam alphabet stamps and paint for the title in the first one. I added some fun felt flowers to the second page. I really didn't have a lot of room left after I put the pictures down. It is so fun watching these girls grow up and I am blessed to be part of their lives. Thanks for stopping by!

It's nice:) Well, I'm off to start some laundry and make some banana bread. Have a good one!

stamps: stamping bella
paper: brocade blue, certainly celery dp, rose red, patterned paper (my mind's eye), white

cupcake birthday

Just a simple little birthday card. I am trying to add to my collection on hand. I have used up a lot of my birthday cards lately so I had a few minutes to get some more back in my stash:) I recieved this image from wish-rak (again...I'm really trying to actually use them!). I colored those fun cupcakes with my SU markers and added some basic gray patterned paper and a fun doodle birthday stamp. Next up is a few boy birthday cards since my brother-in-law's birthday is coming up soon. Thanks for stopping by. I hope all is well.

songbird stripes

I got these cute elzybells images through wish-rak. I colored them awhile back using that scrap of paper as my inspiration. I was finally able to put some cards together with them. I was also able to use some felt snowflakes and mittens from American Crafts. I haven't used wire in forever! It just seemed like this card needed some:)

I don't know if you can tell in the picture, but in this card I outlined all the layers with a glitter pen. It's so shimmery and fun. It's been a snowy and relaxing day here. We had a great message at church today and soup is in the crockpot and bread is baking in the oven. It doesn't get much better:) I'm enjoying my last day of vacation very much!
